Two months before the end of the year Sofia Airport jumped over the record-breaking 4 million passengers (4 076 897). In October passenger numbers increased by 33% (477 323) as compared to the same period last year. Passengers served at Terminal 1 doubled their numbers reaching 262 thousand. Terminal 2 saw 215 thousand passengers.

SOFIA AIRPORT WITH TWO NEW ROUTES AS OF 1 NOVEMBER
The new Sofia Airport winter flight schedule starts with the new year-round flights to Dublin and Budapest.
To the Irish capital city Ryanair will operate flights three times a week – on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays. The passengers who arrived with the first flight from Dublin received scrolls with messages in Bulgarian and English.

Sofia Airport reduces its carbon emissions
Sofia Airport is the only Bulgarian airport certified under the ACI Europe* Airport Carbon Accreditation Programme for reducing carbon emissions. Assya Ivanova, Deputy Chair of the Board of Directors, received the certificate from ACI Europe Director General Olivier Jankovec at a special ceremony held in Brussels.
