Famous compositions by Schumann, Shostakovich, Handel , Dvořák, Schubert, as well as contemporary hits were played by the musicians of the string quartet Symphonette Sofia to the Nadezhda Municipal Institute of Culture. Vitan Boshev (violin), Miroslav Stoychev (violin), Ivan Chochev (viola) and Hristo Ivanov (chello) contributed to the festive mood of passengers and guests to the capital city’s airport.

Sofia Airport with new airline
Passengers at Sofia Airport now can benefit from a wider choice of flights to Amsterdam. With the start of the Summer Schedule, low-cost airline Transavia, which is new to Sofia Airport, has launched flights to the capital city of the Netherlands operated three times a week.
With the newly launched flights, Sofia Airport already offers flights to Amsterdam ten times a week. Bulgaria Air operates flights on a daily basis, while Transavia will operate flights on Monday, Wednesday and Friday.

Concert and exhibition for the St. Cyril and St. Methodius Day
An exhibition titled “About Letters” dedicated to the creators of the Bulgarian alphabet was opened with a festive programme prepared by children from capital city’s kindergarten. The exhibition includes icons and letters made using papier-mâché technique, paper sculptures and painted umbrellas. Authors of those works are children aged between 4 and 15 years.
This event is a joint initiative with “Spiritual Mirror” association. The exhibition can be seen at Terminal 2 public area until the end of the month.

Sofia Airport and Ryanair saw off airline’s 1 000 000th passenger
Only one year after the Irish air carrier’s launch of flights from Sofia, its passengers already exceed one million.
The airline has prepared a special gift voucher for its 1 000 000th passenger – air tickets for two persons to a chosen destination. The lucky passenger was 25-year old student Tanya Dimcheva.
Since the beginning of the year Sofia Airport has serviced a total of 2 267 099 passengers. The Summer Schedule offers flights to 68 destinations in Europe and the Middle East operated by 25 airlines.
